This is an interesting sandwich that was put out by the eccentric Brazilian JiuJitsu practitioner, Rener Gracie. Anyone that is familiar with the Gracie’s knows that they are crazy about their diet. Rener’s father, Rorion, has even published a book going into details about their food combinations and everything (check it out here).
This sandwich is an evolution of the first one and it changes it up slightly. I think it’s better than the original.

One thing I will mention, yes it does sound kind of gross, but it has a very unique taste when it’s all put together. I quite enjoy it.


Whole Wheat Bread – Toasted
Almond Butter
1/2 Ripe Avocado
1 tsp. Coconut Oil
2-3 Egg Whites


Strip Kale leaves from the stalks and wash them. Tear into small pieces

Turn frying pan up to low/med heat and add Coconut Oil. When pan is hot enough add the Kale and saute.

While Kale is cooking toast bread and spread the Almond Butter on one slice. Slice up the 1/2 Avocado and place on top of Almond Butter.

When Kale is nearly done, pour the Egg Whites on Kale and mix up (almost making an omelet). Flip egg mix accordingly. When that is cooked add on top of Avocado and place other slice of toast on top.
